Quantum Learning

What is quantum learning?
Quantum learning is a technique that you were born with. Inquisitive, listening, touching, seeing, experiencing all new things with an open enquiring mind.
As you progressed through school you had a lot of these natural tendencies suppressed either by yourself (fear of being told off) or by your peer group (fear of being different).

Your progress through this cycle of learning was further suppressed because it was easier to copy the efforts of others i.e. your learning strategies eventually locked you into a box of limited learning abilities.
To some extent some schools and colleges are understanding this inhibited way of learning and are making some progress in the areas of quantum learning strategies, but are inhibited by having to meet government targets.
When you need to learn a new subject think how you would have approached it as a child. You would have jumped right into it no holds barred. No fear of getting it wrong, no fear of being told off, no fear of your peers mocking you. You would have made mistake after mistake until you got it right.
Quantum learning on your driving lessons encourages you to be that child again. Since after all you are a child in every new subject you are trying to learn. Never be afraid to ask your driving instructor what you may think of as a 'dumb question'. To an outstanding instructor there is no such thing as a dumb question.

If I had never boiled an egg before and I said to you, do I boil it in water or oil? Do I take the shell off first? Do I add salt to the oil? You might think they are dumb questions, but to me they are not if I have never boiled an egg.
If I did not have you to advise me I might try all of the methods before I came to the right answer. By me taking you on as my mentor in egg boiling you could advise me and this would reduce the time it had taken me to learn how to boil an egg.
That's the same with your driving lessons, your instructor will reduce the time it takes for you to learn all about driving by simply showing you and guiding you throughout your training process. Quantum learning is just that. A shorter way to learn a new subject and at the same time retain that new knowledge for longer.

Example of quantum learning techniques

What is the difference between an educated person and an intelligent person?

An educated person knows that a tomatoe is a fruit. An intelligent person knows not to use a tomatoe in a fruit salad.
An educated person in terms of driving a car knows that you must drive safely at all times. An intellegent person knows that driving slowly is not necessarily the safest way to drive i.e driving at 5mph along a straight main road with no obstructions can be quite dangerous.

Quantum learning is about bringing the obvious and easiest methods of learning anything new down to the simplest of solutions. Reading the Highway Code for a theory test can appear a daunting prospect to some people. That's because they are looking at the prospect of reading a novel or news paper and expecting a beginning, middle and an end. Skimping through it and missing a lot of valuable information.
Students who read the Highway Code as a technical journal will have a better understanding of the content. Students using the Quantum Learning method of reading, will understand and remember almost all of what they have read years after their theory test.

Quantum learning opens your mind

When you apply Quantum techniques to reading, you are shown a specific way to tackle a technical book study session which is a sheer joy to do. On all intensive driving courses the practical driving and theory of driving are all taught to new students by using quantum methods of learning. This not only improves memory retention but also turns a nervous learner driver into a very confident qualified driver.

Quantum learning will help you retain more knowledge

Because you are looking, listening, feeling every experience with quantum learning, you will retain more knowledge. Most of what you see you will remember, some of what you hear you will remember, all that you feel you will remember. That's learning - opening yourself up to all of your senses.
Reading a new technical subject, such as the Highway Code calls for different skills to reading a newspaper. Students who have not utilised quantum learning methods to read the Highway Code can say to me I have read it five or six times. I then ask them a few questions which they usually get wrong.
Next time I see them they get the questions right. What has happened they have looked at the Highway Code in a different way. That's quantum learning.
